Foundation in Fine Arts

Hello, I'm
Abrar Shah
“Fine Art in Wood Carving & Mixed-Media. Sculpting movement from wood and light.”
Artistic Practice
My practice bridges traditional craft and contemporary expression, using wood, fire, pigment, and resin to explore how materials can tell stories, capture memory, and translate movement into lasting form.”

Wood Carving
Hand-carved abstract forms in hardwood that emphasize movement, negative space, and texture, creating pieces that feel alive in both light and shadow.
Exploring Form
Each sculpture begins with the grain of the wood, shaped into organic structures that invite the eye to follow curves, openings, and rhythms.

Relief & Pyrography
Layered wooden panels detailed with carved depth and burned line work, blending drawing and sculpture to capture memory, identity, and personal reflection.
Stories in Layers
Reliefs combine carving and pyrography, where overlapping profiles and burned lines record memory and mark the passage of time.

Mixed-Media Studies
Resin, paint, and textile-based works that extend carving concepts into new surfaces, evoking landscapes, symbols, and flowing narratives across materials.
Expanding Surfaces
Resin shorelines, stitched threads, and painted motifs extend sculptural ideas into color and texture, offering new ways to interpret form.
